As a part of community outreach activity, the institute has held three camps, (one inside and two outside the Institute) on Pap Smear Screening and Ca Breast Screening.
Every year, on foundation day of this Institute (21st September) various activities like rally, blood donation camp, poster exhibition are undertaken to create awareness about cancer and its prevention.
Cancer detection camps were held in community for early detection of cancer regularly.
On 31st May World Anti Smoking Day was celebrated with the help of poster exhibition showing health hazards of smoking
For patients and their relatives health educational programme (Arogya Kirtan) was conducted by eminent Arogya Kirtankar Dr. Sankpal & his team on 2nd November 2015.
Mega health camp was organized at District Jalgaon by Government of Maharashtra, there Preventive Oncology Department, Government Medical College and Cancer Hospital Aurangabad participated by creating health awareness regarding common cancer danger signals and arranged poster exhibition for the same.
On 4th February 2016 World Cancer Day was organized with the help of EQRA Urdu school Aurangabad. A huge cancer awareness cycle rally was arranged, where students exhibited banners & placards about cancer prevention and importance early detection
Radio talks on various cancer related topics by faculties of this institute were telecasted regularly.
To create cancer awareness, speeches were given in community by faculties of this institute.
Dr Karnik Madam, a well known nutritionist, delivered speech on nutritional health education for cancer patients and their relatives and distributed the books authored by her to patients.
Daily patients and their relatives visiting OPD and OT Complex are counseled and imparted health education on importance of cessation of high risk factors (smoking alcohol, high fatty diet etc) with the help of posters through preventive oncology department.
